Hi, I'm Nia Moran and I'm so happy you're here.
Welcome to the breastfeeding support you didn't know you needed.
With over 12 years experience as a feeding therapist in schools/hospitals/clinics/home care, 6 years as a mom to 4 boys, and 5 years in lactation care, I aim to provide you with an un-biased and supportive, yet gentle, approach in lactation care...because mama said there'd be days like this.
My approach is simple; it is driven by your goals.
I meet you where you are.
Without judgement or bias, we create an actionable and manageable plan together and I ensure all the recommendations that I provide are rooted in the most current evidenced based practices.
After needing so much help throughout my own feeding struggles, I enriched my own infant feeding background as an SLP (speech-language pathologist) and furthered my education by:
pursuing over 150 hours of lactation specific education/professional developments
completing over 1,000 clinical hours working with numerous mentor lactation consultants and families
passing the International Board Certified Lactation Exam to become an IBCLC, the gold standard in breastfeeding care
As an IBCLC with a strong infant feeding and myofunctional therapy background, I can offer support in:
breastfeeding latch and position
bottle feeding
milk supply concerns
oral ties and oral motor difficulties
pumping and going back to work
introduction of solid foods
weaning
sensory challenges surrounding feeding
feeding a medically fragile or otherwise medically complex baby
basically any other concern you might have surrounding infant feeding...I've seen so much!
I created Nursing Littles with the idea that in my corner of the lactation world, the word nursing would not only mean feeding from the breast, but the autonomous and collaborative care of individuals of all ages (source: ICN). So to me, to nurse is to provide care and as a parent, I firmly believe then that we are always nursing (caring for) our littles. From one parent to another, allow me to provide you with that same patience, warmth and empathetic care that we also deserve when it comes to infant feeding.
Thank you for finding my small, but incredibly relatable and reliable feeding company.
I am here to be part of your village.
